How Much Do Braces Cost
The cost of braces varies from office to office and geographic region. Clear braces can cost more than metal/color braces. However, when financed the cost difference may not be that great. Braces and orthodontic treatment can cost more than $6000 in some areas. However, typically one can expect a price of about $4900. This is all inclusive but is a rough estimate and can be more or less. It would include the braces, records, treatment, retainers, and retainer checks. Although, this is still a large amount, flexible financing with zero interest can turn it into smaller monthly payments. The price also can depend on the complexity of the teeth and bite. Another influencing factor is whether the braces treatment is for phase I which is usually when orthodontic treatment is done around age 7-9 or Phase II which is done around age 11 or later. Phase I is less expensive; however, the orthodontic treatment is limited and most of the time phase II braces will be needed later on. We recommend Phase I when needed otherwise we’ll let you know doing it this early is only a cosmetic change, and if you wanted to wait until age 11-12 to start then it’s okay. At Winning Smiles Orthodontics, we give one fee that includes records (paperwork and molds of the teeth), the orthodontic treatment, and retainers. Some offices may give a fee for braces but also charge separate fees for records and/or retainers. We feel by giving one inclusive fee, it’s simple, easy to understand, and makes the whole process transparent.
